This is the first Linux Certification I have completed. I found the time invested in this qualification is already paying itself off. The LPIC-1 study guide seems to be a good place to start for the beginner. By downloading a Linux Distribution and getting hands on practice is truly valuable. Reading the book is one thing following it through with a Linux build is another and then finally doing the exam and practising what you learned. I will continue to follow the LPIC path.

I would recommend LPI Certification as one of non distribution related Linux certification. I learnt many new things despite I’ve been involved in Linux for over 10 years now and it is a great opportunity to challenge yours abilities.

I can highly recommend LPIC 1 as a great entry level qualification into the world of Linux. Although I had extensive knowledge before going through the course I still learned on ways to improve my workflow and it introduced me to some concepts I didn’t think of doing before. LPIC 1 is the ideal qualification for an entry level Linux Administrator or even the Experienced Administrator looking to refresh their skill set and update their knowledge. I am definitely looking to progress to LPIC 2 & 3.…

The ubiquitous use of Linux in the world today on all types of devices has placed a demand on educational institutes to embed Linux / Open Source into their academic programmes. Schools use Raspberry PIs to teach computing and here at GCU Linux and Open Source tools are an important skill taught to students in a range of undergraduate courses, for example our undergraduate security programmes which prepare them for industry. We are extremely pleased to now partner LPI.

One of the main reasons I selected LPI was that the courses are not distribution-specific. They give you knowledge in all areas. A good example of this that both rpm and deb package formats are taught and at no point is one recommended above the other. Another area where LPi scores is in the Linux networking area where this extensive topic has been split over a number of sections rather than have one large section.

Great course, really helped me get a better handle on Linux. I will be progressing through the others.

I am pleased to commend the LPIC 1 certification as an essential starting point for any professional on a Linux based career path. At the UK Open University we have been pleased to link our introductory Linux academic module to the LPIC 1 as this has offered our students potential career enhancement.

I did this course as a validation of my knowledge, as I work with Debian-based NAS products every day. I’ve learned a lot about the low level stuff and the why (which makes remembering it much easier for me). I can recommend this for anyone starting a career in Linux, as it introduces you and prepares you for different flavours of Linux very well.

Start of my development towards cloud computing. It gave me a good understanding of the Linux basics and prepares me for the rest of my certification path.

I would recommend the LPI certification, as I was looking for some Linux course to give me a good basis in Linux, LPI certification seem to fit well. I also used the certification as a goal to keep me motivated, so now when I meet others who have completed LPI, Certification, have an appreciation of their skills.
