I can highly recommend LPIC 1 as a great entry level qualification into the world of Linux. Although I had extensive knowledge before going through the course I still learned on ways to improve my workflow and it introduced me to some concepts I didn’t think of doing before. One of the main reasons I selected LPI was that the courses are not distribution-specific. They give you knowledge in all areas. A good example of this that both rpm and deb package formats are taught and at no point is one recommended above the other. Another area where LPi scores is in the Linux networking area where this extensive topic has been split over a number of sections rather than have one large section.
