Would I recommend LPI? Absolutely! Linux is now the by far the most ubiquitous operating system on the planet, from the international space station, the internet and on desktop computers, Linux is everywhere. Why would you NOT want to learn Linux. For me the LPI Linux Essentials exam was the perfect tool, it gave me a great point of focus, and booking the exam gave me a target to work towards, as well as the motivation to achieve a pass. The exam objectives took me on journey from understanding what Linux is, to being able to configure Linux systems from the command line. For anyone with even the slightest interest in Linux, I would thoroughly recommend taking the LPI Linux Essentials Exam.

I can definitely recommend LPIC exam because it helped me re-iterate Linux basics and discover new commands and possibilities. Thanks to LPIC, I’m more effective at my work and I feel more confident working with command line. Now I consider taking LPIC-2 exam as well.

To my mind LPI is the best Linux Certification path. Truly distribution agnostic with real content that can be applied in all situations. Anyone with this has the knowledge to delve into and understand any Linux system. A truly useful technical qualification. To my mind LPI is the best Linux Certification path. I would recommend the LPI certification as an excellent way to get into Linux and learn all the basis, and more. The certification itself is very useful to prove a good Linux knowledge to potential new employers.

I can highly recommend LPIC 1 as a great entry level qualification into the world of Linux. Although I had extensive knowledge before going through the course I still learned on ways to improve my workflow and it introduced me to some concepts I didn’t think of doing before. LPIC 1 is the ideal qualification for an entry level Linux Administrator or even the Experienced Administrator looking to refresh their skill set and update their knowledge. I am definitely looking to progress to LPIC 2 & 3.

I have worked with and taught Linux for over eight years, the majority of my work has been with Debian, Redhat and SUSE in that order. It is so important to have broad base of knowledge. The LPIC certifications tick all of the boxes. I used the LPIC1 & 2 books whilst training my competitor for WorldSkills 2013, he gained the highest point score the UK has achieved in the history of the IT Network Systems Administration competition.
